Hello there
My name is Elaria and I thank you for visiting Elaria’s Wish.
You may not know this, but when I came into this beautiful world, I spent my first seven days in a Special Care Nursery in hospital. This place had so many cool machines that made all kinds of funny noises. Mum and dad didn’t expect me to go there, but they said I had to stay to get better, and they were right – I got better!
Super lucky for me, I eventually got to go home, but I couldn’t forget all the sad faces of my baby friends who weren’t doing so well, as well as their mums and dads who had to put on a brave face for their little ones. They all had my heart. Although I felt helpless, I couldn’t help but ask myself, “what can I do?”
Well, I had overheard mum and dad say that you get to make a wish when you blow out candles on your birthday cake. How awesome is that? So, I decided to patiently wait for my first birthday to arrive and when it did, I just knew that this was my chance to help! Looking at my birthday candle all lit up, I blew it out. My birthday wish was simply to help brighten the day of sick kids and their families… and so Elaria’s Wish was born!
With special permission from The Children’s Hospital, I regularly visit the hospital with a big smile on my face. Elaria’s Wish allows me to deliver gifts to sick kids, to offer messages of hope to struggling parents, and to give thanks to amazing medical teams for all they do. I’m grateful for what happened to me, as it inspired me to think of others and to do something about it.
Thank you so much for reading my story. Know that donations for Elaria’s Wish are not being taken, but I am asking for your well wishes and to please follow my mission.
